Improve Your Personal Prayer Life and Vocabulary

Simple Ways To Improve Praying For Yourself and enhance your vocabulary.

People who know me, are often saying "I like when you pray" or "I like to hear you pray, I don't know if I could do that." Some may even speak of the fear they have regarding public praying, or praying among people they know. My wife says she'd rather I pray, I believe it's because she gets a little intimidated, since my career is concentrated on prayer. For this particular exercise I want to show you steps how you can improve praying for yourself, by using your name, and at the same time enhance your vocabulary.

Step 1. Write your first name vertically. See example below, as I will use my first name.

Example

P

E

R

N

E

L

L

Step 2. Write a word beginning with each letter, a word that's biblical in nature or it could be a person, place, or thing. See example

POWER

ETERNAL

REDEEMED

NEW

ENCOURAGED

LOVE

LIFE

STEP 3. Find a private place, perhaps in your home, car, or office. Say your words audibly several times.

SIDE NOTE: for further development consider looking up your selected words in a Bible dictionary or standard dictionary, www.bible-dictionary.org or dictionary.com

Step 4. Pray with your eyes open. Position your words where you can see them. And began talking to God using these words. At first consider making complete thoughts. You do not have to be in a hurry or rushed. For example. These examples can jump start your prayer time, God is not judging you, He looks at the heart.

Ex. Our Father in heaven, I praise you for your great POWER.

Ex. Lord God thank you for blessings me with physical POWER to go about my day.

Ex. Lord God let Your Holy Ghost POWER come and bless us.
